Apple Vision Pro 2: Coming Sooner Than Expected? Everything We Know (And What We Don’t)

Apple may unveil a new version of its Vision Pro headset as early as this year, according to the latest leaks. The idea of a more powerful and comfortable model sounds promising, but the reports are contradictory — let’s break down what’s really going on.

Apple is already working on a refreshed Vision Pro

According to Mark Gurman (Bloomberg), Apple plans a refresh of the Vision Pro featuring the new M4 chip and a more comfortable strap for longer sessions. This model could launch as early as this year, replacing the current Vision Pro, which runs on an M2 chip.

The M4 would bring significant performance gains:

  • CPU 50% faster than the M2.
  • GPU up to 4x more powerful.
  • A Neural Engine that’s 60% more capable, perfect for enhanced tracking and XR experiences.

But what about the M5? Isn’t that for 2026?

Renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo claims the next Vision Pro will feature an M5 chip, not an M4, and enter production in late 2025, with minimal changes beyond the processor. Additionally, leaks from China suggest Apple may have already started producing a thinner, lighter model with updated cables and finishes.

In short: everyone agrees that something new is coming, but no one agrees on how soon or how improved it really is.

So… is it worth waiting?

What’s clear is that Apple is still heavily invested in its professional headset. The M4 already represents a big leap over the M2, and a more comfortable strap could solve one of the main criticisms: ergonomics. That said, there’s no indication of a lower price or a move toward mainstream accessibility yet.

In other words: if you were already considering buying a Vision Pro and don’t mind waiting a few months, it might be wise to hold off until Apple confirms this refreshed model.

Our recommendation

Leaks should always be taken with caution. Apple hasn’t officially announced anything yet, and we still don’t know whether we’ll see a truly lighter model or simply a refresh with the M4 and a new strap.

We’ll keep you updated as soon as there’s an official announcement.
